Abstract

Objective To study the expression of E-CD and its clinical significance in esophaged squanous cell carcinoma patients undergoing esophagoscopy. Methods E-CD expressions were determined in undergiong esophagoscopy tissues from 63 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and in normal esophageal tissues with immunohistochemical LSAB methods. Results Expression of E-CD was not related to age, sex, location in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients ( P 0.05); The correlation was observed between low E-CD expression and cellular differentiation of esophageal squmous cell carcinoma ( P 0.05); The significant correlation was found between E-CD expression and its invasion, metastasis ( P 0.01). Conclusion Low E-CD expression was related to invasion and metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients undergoing esophagoscopy, and can be regarded as an imporptant sign of invation and metastasis.
