Abstract
The paper deals with bending-torsion strength of large Ro/Ro ship.By the modern ship-analyzing technique of 3-D entire ship finite element model and DNV's SESAM system.First the structural FE model,mass-model,hydrodynamic-model are set up.Then by a 3-D radiation-diffraction theory and FE program the long term prediction of wave includes motion and loading is performed, based on which a group of design waves are defined. The bending-torsion combined deformation and stress in each part of main structural members of ship hull on design waves are calculated by an FE model of entire ship hull. The trait of bending-torsion strength is acquired.Which is guidance to this type vessel and other vessels on the ship-analysis of structural optimum and strength.
