Abstract

Objective To understand the clinical characteristics of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia infants wiithextrapulumonary complication. Mothed The Mycoplasma Pneumoniae- Ig M(MP- Ig M) antibody in 2 332 hospitalizedinfants with Mycoplasm pneumoniae pneumonia was detected by enzyme- linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) fromJanuary.2010 to December. 2013. Results Totally 418 cases positive for MP-Ig M antibody were detected with the positiverate of 17.92% and extrapulumonary complications occurred to 116 cases(27.75%) including 67 male cses( 4.58%) and 49 female cases(5.63%), the nuber of cases in the age groups of 1 year,-3 years,-7years and 7 years were 22, 49, 30 and 15,respectively.The incidence was the highest in infants under age of one year(42.31%) There was no significant difference inincidence between the male and female cases(P0.05).The most mp infection occurred in the group of under 1 year(42.24%).The most affected extrapulmonary organs was digestive system 39 cases, followed by circulation and cardiovascularsystems(26cases and 25 cases). Conclusion Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a organism between bacteria and viruses without cell wall, thesmallest prokaryotic cell microorganisms and it is one of the important pathogens of primary atypical pneumonia, in addition tothe symptoms of lung damage after infection, other organs and systems are also involved leading to the difficulties in clinicaldiagnosis and treatment.
