"Self-Realization"in Confucius and Mencius Thoughts on Human Nature

Abstract

The analysis of Confucius and Mencius' thoughts on human nature in this paper found that although they were both idealists,they come very near to the idea ofself-realization.They admitted the need to provide for the basic needs,but they were more concerned in the process on how people deal with one another and how to promote morality.In light of Maslow's theory,Confucius and Mencius thoughts on human nature are valuable parts of our traditional culture.
