Development of Huangyuesimiao, a new rice variety with high quality

Huangyuesimiao, developed by Rice Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences using core germplasm breeding theory, is a new high quality rice variety as early, middle, late rice. Its rice quality is up to 2nd grade of GB and Guangdong provincial standard. It has middle resistance to blast and resistance to bacterial blight. It showed strong stem and high resistant to lodging and tolerant to high temperature in research in middle-cropping seasons of 2008, 2009, so it adapted to middle-late cropping seasons well. It was registered in Guangdong in 2012 after multiple trials in late-cropping seasons of 2009, 2010, 2011.
