Breeding and Application of a New Rice Variety Yuenongsimiao with Good Quality and Disease Resistance

Yuenongsimiao is a new rice variety with good quality and disease resistance,bred by rice research institute of Guangdong academy of agricultural sciences.The yield of Yuenongsimiao in first trial and repeated trial in Guangdong region were 420.72 kg/667 m2and 437.82 kg/667 m2,significant higher than the control variety.It has the following characteristic:Grain quality of GB-quality 2,high resistance to rice blast,resistance to bacterial blight,compact plant type,lodging resistance,good color in maturity.It was administrated by Guangdong variety approval committee in 2011.It was selected as the leading variety of Guangzhou city in 2012 and 2013,and the leading variety of Guangdong province in 2013.
