On the System Assessment of Sustainable Development in Kaifeng City

Abstract
City is the main place for human activities to take place.In some sense,the world will be sustainable if the development of cities is sustainable.On the basis of theory and mouthed of sustainable development,this paper puts forward concept and theoretical model and establishes assessment model of sustainable urban development and takes Kaifeng city as a case study.The evaluation results show: Kaifeng's development has a huge potential and a large amplitude variation and it tends to be in sustainable development on the whole;The whole city's coordination situation is low as well as not steady;The efficiency of the development continued to decline since 1995;The openness of the city is increasing while the efficiency of regulation and control has been enhanced gradually.Finally,the suggestions of Kaifeng′s sustainable development were proposed in the paper.
