Urban Traffic Sustainable Development of the City of Nanjing

“Sustainable development”has already become a social development strategy advocated in the world. In the key period of keeping fast and steady increasing of automobile traffic in the city of Nanjing, the sustainable development as a basic question of the urban traffic development has been promoted to a strategic height. This article deeply explains the connotation of sustainable development from three aspects of “automobile sustainable development”“resource sustainable development” and “environmental sustainable development”;it also makes an introduction and analyses of the questions existed in the current situation of road traffic and the impact on the future of the city traffic, and then, favorable countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to Nanjing city’s sustainable development.
