Clinical analysis of anterior chamber paracentesis in treatment of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of anterior chamber paracentesis in treatment of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma.Methods Forty-one cases(41 eyes) with acute angle-closure glaucoma were divided into anterior chamber puncture group(24 cases) and control group(17 cases).Puncture group were taken the anterior chamber paracentesis on the slit lamp,and used the medicine to control intraocular pressure after the technique.The control group were given medications to control intraocular pressure.Then two groups were following the principles of anti-glaucoma surgery.Two groups of intraocular pressure and visual changes in circumstances and manner of anti-glaucoma surgery were analysed statistically.Results Puncture group to reduce intraocular pressure(44.48±12.83) was better than the control group(28.69±12.83).To the visual acuity be improved,puncture group(5.67±3.42) was also better than the control group(2.59±2.12).Puncture group had 58.33% iridectomy,but the control group only had 17.64% iridectomy.Conclusion Anterior chamber paracentesis in treatment of acute primary angle-closure glaucoma attack can be more effectively control the intraocular pressure,better protection of visual function and recovery of vision,can avoid some unnecessary filtering surgery,and create the conditions for further treatment of glaucoma.
