Abstract
A SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis method was used to study genetic diversity of 24 Medicago ruthenica populations.The results showed the genetic diversity is higher among the germplasm.Four kinds of allozymes revealed 6 loci.The mean of percentage of polymorphicloci (P) was 76%.The mean effective number of alleles per locus (Ae) was 1.492 and the expected heterozygoisty (He) was 0.321.The total gene diversity was 0.321.Meanwhile,the gene diversity within populations was 0.273 and 81.9% of the diversity resided within populations (GST=0.181).The gene flow was 1.4 which indicated the gene flow took place among populations.The cluster analysis indicated the 24 populations were divided into 5 distinct groups according to the genetic distance which was clearly proved that the genetic divergence among populations had a close correlation with geographical site.
