Abstract
Objective To understand individual dose level of external exposure to radiation workers in Sichuan province,and provide evidence to radiation protection.Methods Thermoluminescence dosimetry method was used for the radiation workers in Sichuan province in 2008.Results A total of 7499 radiation worker were surveyed.The annual effective dose per capita was 1.03(mSv/a).The annual collective dose was 7.79(per capita,Sv).The workers with effective dose less than 5mSv/a accounted for 98.61%.The annual dose of 0.11% of the workers exceeded the national standard (20mSv/a).The first six occupations with high annual effective dose were well logging (6.54mSv/a,) interventional radiology(6.54mSv/a),petroleum and natural gas exploiting (2.51mSv/a),accelerator operation (2.40mSv/a),nuclear medicine(2.21mSv/a) and industry defectoscopy(1.90mSv/a).Conclusion it is necessary to strengthen the radiation protection in Sichuan province.
