Abstract
Objective: To study the antiviral effect of combination of interferon alpha(IFN-? and oxymatrine in treating chronic hepatitis B. Methods: 98 patients with chronic hepatitis B were randomly allocated to oxymatrine with IFN-?treatment group)or IFN-?ontrol group). The therapeutic course for them was 6 months, and the changes of HBsAg, HBeAg and HBV-DNA were observed and compared. Results: After treatment, the negative conversion rate of HBeAg in treatment group was 54.9%(28/51), and that in control group was 34.0% (16/47), the difference was significant(P0.05).The negative conversion rates of HBsAg(9.8%,5/51;6.4%,3/47) and HBV-DNA (58.8%,30/51;40.4%,19/47) were not significantly different between two groups(P0.05). Conclusion: IFN-?combined with oxymatrine shows better effect in treating chronic hepatitis B than that in using IFN-? alo ne.
