Abstract
Objective Investigating the relationship between serum and urine levels of collagen Ⅲ(C-Ⅲ) and the excretion rate of urine β2-microglobulin(β2-MG) in order to evaluate their diagnostic value for renal damage in hypertensive patients. Methods Levels of serum and urine C-Ⅲ as well as the excretion rate of urine β2-MG were detected by radioimmunoassay in 57 patients and 57 healthy adults. Results Serum and urine C-Ⅲ and excretion of urine β2-MG were significantly higher in the patients than those in the healthy adults(t=3.78-10.53,P0.001).Positive correlation between the excretion of urine β2MG and serum and urine levels of C-Ⅲ was noticed in the patients(r=0.31,0.32;P0.05). Conclusion Combined detection of serum and urine levels of C-Ⅲ and excretion of urine β2-MG is in favor of early diagnosis of the disease.
