Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Tongluo decoction on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods 62 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into two groups. On the hypoglycemic basis in both groups, 32 patients in treatment group were treated by Tongluo decoction, and 30 patients in control group were treated by intramuscular injection with vitamin B1 and B12, with a treatment course of 4 weeks for both groups. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after a treatment course in both groups. Results The total effective rates in treatment group and control group were 87.8 % and 53.3% respectively. There was a significant difference between two groups ( P 0.05). Conclusion The Tongluo decoction is effective in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
