Abstract
Objective To study the clinical value of biopsy with fine-needle aspiration in pathological diagnosis of thyroid diseases. Methods Clinical and pathological data of 154 patients underwent fine-needle aspiration of thyroid tissues were analyzed retrospectively. Results The diagnosises of 154 patients were malignant in 2 cases(1.3%),suspected malignant in 11 cases(7.1%),benign in 119 cases(77.3%),and undiagnosed in 22 cases(14.3%).Of patients with benign diseases,Hashimoto thyroiditis was diagnosed in 41 cases(34.5%) and nodular goiter was dignosed in 24 cases(20.2%).Conclusion Fine-needle aspiration of the thyroid gland is a reliable method for early diagnosis of thyroid diseases.
