Pretreatment of cotton and its blended fabric with peracetic acid

Abstract

Peracetic acid possesses high oxidation potential, it is used as environment friendly oxidant. Cotton and its blended fabric are pretreated with peracetic acid in shortened process, effects of pH value, concentration, time and temperature on the pretreating efficiency are systematically researched. Via orthogonal test, the optimized process can lead to satisfactory results.
