Abstract
Objective:To explore the diagnostic value of magenetic resonance urography(MRU) in ectopic ureter in children.Methods:Twenty-nine cases confirmed as ectopic ureter by surgery were examined using MRU and MRI.The image features and the locations of the ectopic ureter were analyzed.Results:MRU with conventional MRI FSE sequence showed:18 cases with nephro-ureteral duplication with ectopic ureter,7 cases with ectopic kidney and ectopic ureter;2 cases with single ectopic ureter.According to the ureteral orifice location,the ureteral orifice opened into the prostatic urethra in 6 cases,into the female vestibule in 9 cases,into the female vagina in 4 cases and into the lower wall of urinary bladder in 8 cases.Compared with the surgical results,the diagnostic accuracy of MRU and MRI in locating the ectopic ureteral orifice was 100%.Conclusion:MRU combined with conventiona MRI can be used in determining the location of ectopic ureteral orifice in children.
