Application of GPRS in remote meter reading system

With the enhancement of electrical network automationy,remotemeter reading has become the important way to improve the electricity management level of modernized electrical network.A new meter reading system based on GPRS is presented to meet the demands for the reliability and real time performance of data communication.This paper introduces the GPRS network architecture and the protocol,as well as GPRS data transmission and emphasis on the frame,operating principle and design of software in remote meter reading system based on GPRS technology,and puts forward a design plan of remote meter reading system based on double-mode communication.It is characterized by higher speed,great data throughtput,real-time performance and reliable communication.Along with the development of communication,the double-mode communication certainly has a broad foreground.
