Abstract
Though shi is very important in Canglang Poetics,it has scarcely been discussed detailedly in the treatises concerned.By analysing the inherent meaning of shi of Canglang Poetry and comparing the theoris on shi in the past dynasties of China,The author of this article tries to deepen the understanding of Yanyu's shi and draws the following conclusions:Shi is the capability of appreciating;Shi's object is all kinds of esthetic styles;The way of approaching shi is wu,and they provide foundations each other;The value of Yanyu's shi lies in his pointing out the esthetic essence of shi,but the defect is his neglecting the exterior factors of shi.
