On the Differences and Similarities of the Tragic Spirit of Zhuangzi and Schopenhauer

Mr.Zhu Guangqian once made conclusion that there was no tragedy in China,the reason for which was that Chinese people seldom have abstract thinking about question concerning ultimateness.But people have been exploring life consciousness since Laozi and Zhuangzi.Zhuangzi held that life coexists with anxiety,which opinion is in accordance with Schoperhauer's idea of original sin.Both of them had found forgetting and the denial of will as a way of extrication.The tragic spirit of Chinese art originates from tragic life consciousness of Zhuangzi,which is big difference between China's tragic spirit and that of West.
