Abstract

Objective To diagnose distant blockage in internal carotid artery using high frequency ultrasound survey carotid. Methods B-mode and color Doppler ultrasound were used to examine 120 persons who were subdivided into three groups(healthy, carotid atherosclerosis without cerebral infarction, and carotid atherosclerosis with cerebral infarction.) Results The numeral internal carotid/common carotid was significantly higher than that in healthy and carotid atherosclerosis without cerebral infarction groups(P0.05).The ratio of numeral internal carotid to common carotid wasn't significantly different between that in healthy group and carotid atherosclerosis without cerebral infarction group(P0.05).Conclusion The numeral internal carotid/common carotid can promote diagnosis distant blockage in internal carotid artery early.
