Arts of Singing and Theories of Vocal Music before Qin Dynasty

In different historical period,arts of singing and theories of vocal music vary because of different vocal methods and singing forms due to different life styles.In Chinese history before Qin Dynasty,singing,dancing and music are highly dependent on each other.According to historical records,these three forms of music arts are still combined together even at late period of the Warring States(475-221 B.C.) and theories of vocal music can only be seen in the works of philosophy,literature and history.Such theories help us to have a better understanding of the development of music arts before Qin Dynasty in Chinese history.
