Abstract
Butyl hexanoate was synthesized by the material of hexanoic acid and n-butyl alcohol, using solid superacid S2O82-/SnO2-SiO2 as catalyst. The effects of steep concentration, mole ratio of Sn to Si,calcination temperature,acid/alcohol ratio, reaction time, and catalyst amount on esterification reaction were studied and the appropriate reaction conditions were as follow: the mole ratio of n-butyl alcohol to hexanoic acid was 3:1,the amount of catalyst to hexanoic acid(0.1 mol) was 0.50 g,and reaction time was 2.0 h.Under the appropriate conditions, the esterification rate was up to 99.1%.
