Abstract
The flotation separation behavior of cadmium(Ⅱ) with the system of(NH4)2SO4-KI-Rh6G and the conditions for the separation of cadmium(Ⅱ) with other metal ions were studied. The results showed that in presence of 1.0 g(NH4)2SO4 and in a medium of pH 7.0 aqueous solution containing of 1.0 mL of 0.1 mol/L KI and 1.0 mL of 0.001 mol/L Rh6G,Cd2+ was floated quantitatively, and Zn2+,Mn2+,Ni2+,Co2+,Fe3+ could not be floated.Cd2+ was thus separated successfully from those metal ions by flotation.Under the optimum condiuions, trace cadmium(Ⅱ) in synthetic water samples was separated by flotation aod determined by sepectrophotometry with satisfactory results.
