Abstract

The liquid-solid flotation separation behaviour of cadmium in sodium nitrate-potassium iodide-cetylpyridinium bromide(CPB) system and the conditions for separation of cadmium from other metal ions were studied, and a method for flotation separation of cadmium was established. The results showed that with the amount of 1.0 g NaNO_3 and 1.0 mL of 0.10 mol/L KI solution and 2.0 mL of 1.0×10~(-2) mol/L cetylpyridinium bromide solution,Cd~(2+) could be separated quantitatively from Zn~(2+),Mn~(2+),Ni~(2+),Co~(2+),Fe~(2+),Al~(3+).The method has been used for the flotation separation of Cd~(2+) in the samples of synthetic water, and the flotation yield of cadmium is 96.0%-106.3%.
