Abstract
Objective To explore the etiology of incisional hernia of abdominal wall. Methods 168 cases with incisional hernia were analyzed retrospecitively in terms of incision type and size, technique of suture, suture materials, infection of incision, increase of intraabdomial pressure, age, body weight, nutrition and the time of occurrence. Results 135 cases were 51~70 years old among 168 cases with incisional hernia(80.4%).Abdominal longitudinal incision was performed in 145 cases(86.0%).84 cases with incisional hernia were on 2~6 months after operation(50.0%).Bigger incision, improper technique of suture, infection of incision, increase of intraabdominal pressure, heavy body weight, hypoalbumine mia and diabetes mellitus were also easily induced of incisional hernia. Conclusion Transverse incision, strict manipulation and hemostasis, right use of antibiotics, prevention of infection of the incision and increase of intraabdomial pressure, good nutrition supply, less weight and use of absorbable thread are effective in the prevention of incisional hernia.Postoperative half year is high incidence stage of incision hernia and needs to avoid the factors induced incision hernia.
