Abstract

As a safe and reliable technology for heavy metal contaminated soil, phytoremendiation becomes the focus in current research. According to the different mechanism of eliminating heavy metal contamination in soil, phytoremediation can be subdivided into phytostabilization, phytovolatilization and phytoextraction. Compared with the traditional technology for recovery of polluted soil with heavy metals, phytoremendiation has such advantages as low cost, protecting environment and easier operation. But the development of this technology is limited for low speed restoration and sensitivity of environmental condition. To solve these problems, further studies on gene technology application and soil amendment in improving remediation ability should be developed.
