Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical and subconjunctival anesthesia in filtration surgery on glaucoma patients.Methods All 109 cases(132 eyes) of different glaucoma patients were given filtration surgery under topical anesthesia with 0.4% Benoxil and subconjunctival anesthesia with 2% lidocaine 0.2~0.3ml.The effect of anesthesia and operative and postoperative complication were observed.Results The operation of 124 eyes(93.93%) was completed smoothly and no pain occurred,6 eyes(4.55%) operation a little pain occurred and topical anesthesia added,2 eyes(1.52%) operation obvious pain occurred and retrobulbar anesthesia added.After operation,in all the 132 eyes,visual acuity and visual fields improved or remained unchanged,and only a little inflammation occurred.Conclusion During filtration surgery in different glaucoma patients,topical and subconjunctival anesthesia is proved to be safe and reliable.
