Abstract

Objective:To study the relationship between the expression of E-cadherin and invasion,metastasis and progression of human gastric cancer.Methods:76 cases of human gastric cancer were examined for E-cadherin by SP immunohistochemistry.Results:E-cadherin was present in all normal gastric mucomembranous epithelium.E-cadherin was associated with gastric cancer differentiation,invasion and metastasis (P0.01).Conclusion:E-cadherin is associated with gastric cancer differentiation,invasion and metastasis,which suggests E-cadherin as a new tumor marker.
