Clinical analysis of pregnancy outcomes in advanced age pregnant woman and pregnancy complications

Objective To explore the clinical features of pregnancy outcomes in advanced age pregnant woman and pregnancy complications. Methods From May 2013 to September 2014,145 pregnant women in advanced age admitted into our hospital were selected.According to whether the age was over 35 years old or not,they were divided into advanced age group(n=63) and appropriate age group(n=82).The puerperae between two groups were followed up,and their pregnancy outcomes and incidence of pregnancy complications were compared. Results In the advanced age group,the incidences of postpartum hemorrhage,fetal distress,and premature rupture of fetal membranes in primiparae were higher compared with that in appropriate group at proportions of 36.00% vs 4.92%,44.00% vs 14.75%,and 36.00%vs 13.11% respectively(P 0.05).There was no statistical difference in incidences of adverse pregnancy outcomes in pluriparae.In the advanced age group,the incidence of complications like placenta previa,gestational hypertension,and premature delivery was higher in comparison with that in appropriate age group at proportions of 24.00% vs 1.64%,32.00% vs 3.28%,and 40.00% vs 4.92%(P 0.05).The incidence of gestational hypertension in pluripara was higher than that in appropriate age group at proportion of 42.11% vs 4.76%(P0.05). Conclusion The incidences of pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes in primipara at advanced age.Targeted prevention in clinic is necessary in order to guarantee maternal and child safety.
