Abstract

Objective To study the correlations between serum level of C-reactive protein and the clinical significance in onset of patients with coronary heart diseases(CHD) and its value in prediction of CHD.Methods Ninety cases of CHD(trial group) and 25 healthy persons(control group) were selected and serum levels of CRP were measured. Results Serum levels of CRP in patients with unstable angina(UA) and patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI) were much higher than that of normal control group(P0.05).The degree of increase of serum level of CRP in patients was proportional with different grade of severity of CHD(in order of increase in serum levels: stable angina pectoris, unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction) and there was significant difference between patients with UA and patients with AMI(P0.05).Conclusion There was significant correlation between serum level of CRP and degree of severity of CHD.Serum level of CRP plays an important role in early assessment, control of CHD and reducing the incidence of accidents and mortality rate of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
