Value of Serum Nt-proBNP in Diagnosis and Treatment of Senile Chronic Heart Failure

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum Nt-proBNP in diagonosis and treatment of senile chronic heart failure(CHE).Methods Total 38 healthy controls and 52 patients of chronic heart failure were enrolled into the study.Concentration of Nt-proBNP was determined with ELISA assay.Results The level of serum Nt-proBNP was significantly increased as compared with those in the control group;The Nt-proBNP levels has an statistical decrease after two weeks'treatment.Conclusion Nt-proBNP had optimal value to diagnose LVSD and CHF,the level of Nt-proBNP in CHF group decreased after treatment and associated with improvement of clinical conditions.
