Nonperforating trabecular surgery with amniotic membrane implant.

Objective To evaluate the clinical results of nonperforating tra-becular surgery (NPTS) with amniotic membrane implant. Methods Eighteen cases (30 eyes) of advanced open angle glaucoma underwent NPTS with amniotic membrane implant, Postoperatively, the intraocular pressure (IOP), vision, visual field and the bleb appearance were recorded . Results After operation, at last 3 ~ 9 months, the vision and visual field were steady, the intraocular pressure was ≤20 mmHg ( 1 mmHg = 0.133kPa) .The bleb was formed very well.The postoperative complications were less. Conclusion The elevated IOP in patients with open angle glacoma can be effectively reduced by NPTS. The sucessful filtration was formed and the complications were less. Therefore, NPTS is more ideal to treat open angle glaucoma.
