Contradiction Between Chinese Literature and World Literature——On Problems of Nationalization, Westernization and Globalizationof the 20th-Century Chinese Literature

Starting from the analysis of the 20th-century Chinese literary history, the article holds that the nationalizing and Westernizing practice of the 20th- century Chinese literature was a failure. The globalness of the contemporary Chinese literature shouldn't be based on the Western tradition or the Chinese tradition, but on the original and artistic schema originating from the modernization of the Chinese society. The author supports neither the nationalizing view nor Westernizing view, but thinks that the Chinese literature should go the way of globalization.
