A Study of Civic System of Huaihai Economic Zone Basing on Categorization Theory

Huaihai Economic Region lies at the middle zone of the east costal economic belt, it has good location conditions and resource advantages. However, Huaihai Economic Region along has litter development of regional economy. The paper firstly quantitatively calculates the primacy index of the urban system in HuaiHai Economic Region in representative years. Secondly, quantitatively calculate the fractal dimensions of hierarchical structure of urban system and the fractal dimensions of spatial structure of urban system in HuaiHai Economic Region in representative years based on the fractal theory according to these analyses. The paper points out that there are some basic deficiencies in the urban system in HuaiHai Economic Region. Such as the primacy index of the urban system in HuaiHai Economic Region is not too big, the hierarchical structure of urban system is beginning to development. The spatial structure of urban system is logical and together distribute, the capacity of spatial interactions among cities is stringing. And last, the paper correspondingly put forward to the practical and feasible countermeasures and suggestions to accelerate the belt of urban in Huaihai Economic Region concerning to speeding up central cities as a core, to strengthen the belt of urban, to take middle-small cities on stress and perfect the urban system of Huaihai Economic Region etc.
