Visual anthropology,besides its elements of art,science and technology,has reflected the most basic human value of anthropology,i.e.focusing on human beings' survival and development behind the vision.Meanwhile,apart from recording and expressing ethnography by means of film and television,and from videoing and studying the content and ideas of human culture,visual anthropology should also study visual tools,human vision development,visual cognition,visual thinking,visual symbols,visual expression,visual communication,and the carrying pattern of visual culture.In addition,the social stratification,social control and image of times about visual culture are also what contemporary visual anthropology should focus on.
