Study on the Method of Adjustment of Town's Administrative Zone Based on GIS Spatial Analysis

In this paper,the existing methods of the adjustment of town's administrative zone were analyzed,and it was concluded that such factors as the population of towns,the hinterland of towns and its spatial interaction impacted the adjustment of town's administrative zone mainly.The function of GIS spatial analysis was utilized to compute the hinterland of towns based on population,and the hinterland of towns was looked as the radiation scope of towns to adjust the town's administrative zone according as the principle of annex,rationality and integrality.Changling County in Jilin Province was studied as a positive example using this method.The result indicates that utilizing the function of GIS spatial analysis to compute the radiation scope of towns is easy to hand and the data has fine compatibility and high definition.The study provides a useful method in quantitative analysis for the adjustment of town's administrative zone.
