Abstract

Four kinds of Mg fertilizer were used to cultivate soil in the lab and were applied to flue-cured tobacco plant in pot culture. The results showed that the soil exchangeable Mg content increased significantly after different kinds of Mg fertilizer were applied. The soil exchangeable Mg contents of all the treatments came up to the highest after the soil was cultured for 50 days and decreased to the lowest after 90 days, the order of which was MgSO 4 MgO dolomite calcium magnesium phosphate. The soil exchangeable Mg content of CK without application of Mg fertilizer was the lowest in the period of culture. Different kinds of Mg fertilizer applied to tobacco had different effect on its growth, chemistry ingredients and yield. At the same level of Mg~(2+), the best treatment for growth was the MgO treatment and its nutrient content, total uptake of Mg and chlorophyll (Chl) content were the highest as well as its total yield. The total yield and leaves yield of CK were the lowest.
