Canopy Physiological Parameter in Maize with Different Yield Potentials

Abstract

Two types of maize cultivars,high yield potential maize(Xianyu335 and Zhengdan958) and normal maize(Yuyu22 and Nongda518) were chosen as materials,the canopy physiological parameter including leaf area index,leaf area duration,the net photosynthetic rate,dry matter accumulations and yield were analyzed in maize with different types.The result showed that the leaf area index,leaf area duration and the total dry matter accumulation of maize with upright-leaf type were higher than normal maize.The net photosynthetic rate of Yu22 and Nongda518 was higher than Xianyu335 and Zhengdan958 in the early growth stage.Emergence showed the opposite trend after 90d;yield and dry matter accumulation after silking showed a significant positive correlation with physiological parameters that not all groups showed a significant difference.The formation of crop yield and quality traits were quantitative trait combination of results,the best level of production groups was not a physiological indicator of outstanding performance,but decided at the appropriate physiological indicators.
