Abstract
Four Volumes on the Standard Chinese Pronunciation《国音四种》,written by TU Cuo涂锉in early 1920s,is the first work known to date that recorded with phonetic symbols the phonology of Gan dialect in Jiangxi province.With an analysis of its fourth volume Methods to Correct the Local Accent《改正土音法》,the paper discusses the phonological system and features of Gaoan dialect about 100 years ago.
