Abstract
The research on the effects of different concentrations of carboxymethyl chitosan on the seeds germination of Brassica chinensis L.under suboptimal temperature was done.Under suboptimal temperature(15±1)℃,B.chinensis seeds were soaked with 5 concentrations(0,0.05%,0.10%,0.20% and 0.40%) of carboxymethyl chitosan in germination test to study the effects of seeds soaked with different concentrations of carboxymethyl chitosan on the seed germination characters.Seeds soaked with carboxymethyl chitosan could increase the germination potential, germination rate, germination index, vigor index, bud length and root length under suboptimal temperature. The effect of seed soaking with 0.10% carboxymethyl chitosan was best, compared with CK,the germination potential and germination rate were increased by 30.43% and 18.42% respectively, germination index, fresh weight of seedlings and vigor index were increased by 47.58%、30% and 91.86% respectively, and bud length and root length were increased by 30.41% and 15.04% respectively, which all reached at the significant level or the extremely significant level. The optimum concentration of seed soaked with carboxymethyl chitosan to promote the germination of B.chinensis seeds was 0.10%.The research provided the scientific basis for the application of carboxymethyl chitosan in vegetable production.
