Abstract

The development history and light-guiding mechanism of photonic bandgap-photonic crystal fibers(PBG-PCF) are reviewed. And the characteristics of photonic bandgap fibers with triangular lattice are presented. The properties of PBG-PCF are discussed.Main reasons for attenuation of existing PBG-PCF are further discussed,as well as its solution.
