Abstract
[Objective] To learn the situation of lead pollution around the primary schools of QingYunPu district of Nanchang and investigate the environmental quality in that region after using lead-free gasoline.[Methods] Atomic absorption spectrometry was applied to determine the lead content in the air and dust in the main trunk roads around the primary schools in that region.[Results] The average lead level in the air and soil was lower than that of the national standard and that in the gasoline containing lead.[Conclusion] The lead level in the environment around the primary schools of Qingyunpu District is lower than that of the national standard;using lead-free gasoline is beneficial for the reduction of lead pollution.
