Abstract
The scale inhibition performance of low molecular weight γ-PGA(LMPGA) was measured by a static scale inhibition method.LMPGA of molecular weights of 5.0×103 and 7.0×103 showed similar inhibition performance for CaCO3.When the concentration of Ca2+ was up to 20 mg/L,the rate of the scale inhibition reached 88%.The inhibition of γ-PGA to CaCO3 decreased with the increasing of Ca2+ concentration,pH,temperature,and incubation time.In addition,γ-PGA exhibited the inhibition performance for CaSO4.When the dosage was up to 10 mg/L,the rate of the scale inhibition reached 90%.
