Determination of Cyanide in Drinking Water by Flow Injection Analysis

Abstract

Objective To develop flow injection analysis for determination of cyanide in drinking water by isonicotinic acid-barbituric acid spectrophotometric.Methods Drinking water samples were distillation line,condensation,heat boxes are QC8500 flow injection colorimetric analyzer automatically.Results The minimum detectable concentration was 0.68 μg/L,the relative standards deviation was 2.05 %-3.16%,recovery rate was between 94.4%-99.5%.The same water sample was tested using QC8500 flow injection analyzer and isonicotinic acid-barbituric acid spectrophotometric method,which the detection results showed that there was no significant difference(t=0.550,P0.05).Conclusion The method has the characteristics of simplicity, accuracy,high automation and reliability,it is suitable for large amount samples analysis.
