Abstract

A strain virus isolated from a goose farm in Jilin province was identified as Newcastle disease virus by HA,HI and RT-PCR.The virus was named MHK-1 strain. The MDT and ICPI,ELD50 for MHK-1 strain were 43 h,1.63 and 10-8.3/0.2 mL,respectively. The results indicated that the MHK-1 isolate was virulent strain of Newcastle disease virus. The pathogenic experiment revealed that the virus is very strong pathogenic to goose. The sequence analysis of F gene of the isolate showed that the sequence of the cleavage site of the fusion protein of MHK-1 isolate was 112R-R-Q-K-R-F117,which is consistent with that of the published virulent NDV strains.
