Abstract
Objective: To investigate the dietary status of urban and rural residents in Tianjin from 2000 to 2004. Methods: Tianjin Statistical Bureau provided the food consumption data of urban and rural residents and demographical data in Tianjin from 2000 to 2004. Nutrients intake and dietary pattern were calculated and analyzed by computer software. Results: In urban, the consumption of animal products, fruit and vegetable was rational and the quality of protein was good, but the intake of grain, milk and soy was lower. The fat energy ratio reached 34%~35%. The intake of vitamin A, B1, B2 and calcium was lower than the recommended. In rural, the consumption of grain, vegetable and vegetable oil was rational, but animal products, milk and soy lower. The quality of protein needed to be improved. The intake of vitamin A, B2 and calcium was much lower than RDA. Conclusion: There was micronutrients deficiency in both urban and rural residents of Tianjin, especially rural. The energy intake contributed from fat was higher in urban .
