Abstract
Through introducing and comparing the yearly city road developmentof Nanjing,this article suggests a model of the main freeway and the connected dominating urban road system, adopts the analyses of buttering congruence and correlation, and uses the method of pair wise comparison. The research indicates that the system of city road constructing is the master factor of the evolvement of city form when did the research in Nanjing. Other resources like natural terrain, river, guidance of government, also make some sense during the urban development besides urban roads. All those factors form the general pattern of the whole city of Nanjing.
