Early diagnosis of dynamic detection for the serum CEA and CA153 in breast cancer with recurrence and metastasis

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine pre-and post-operative dynamic changes of the tumor markers CA153 and CEA in patients with breast cancer and explore the value of early diagnosis for the recurrence and metastasis.The serum from 144 patients with breast cancer was collected and CEA /CA153 was detected by multi-tumor markers protein array detective system before operation,3 month and 6 month of post-operation respectively.Results:The positive rates of CEA and CA153 had no relation with ages and acceptor status.CA153 had a positive correlation with the clinical stage and lymph node metastasis,and CEA had no correlation.The CEA and CA153 of pre-operation had no difference with post-operation(P0.05),and showed significantly higher in the group of recurrence and metastasis than no recurrence and metastasis(P≤0.001).The positive rates of CEA and CA153 had a significantly correlation with recurrence and metastasis(χ2=39.968,P0.001).The interval time from the first positive to recurrence and metastasis was 56 days to 7 months,average about 3 months.The dynamic detection of CEA and CA153 are better prewarning markers for monitoring the recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer,and benefit to early diagnosis and interference.
