Research Progress in the Production of Fuel Ethanol

Abstract
Energy crisis results in the soaring oil price,so more and more attention has been focused on fuel ethanol,which will be the substitute of gasoline.Research progress in fuel ethanol production around the world has been summarized in this paper,including the materials,strain breeding,fermentation technology,ethanol dehydration technology as well as the treatment and utilization of lees waste water.The future prospects of fuel ethanol production in China are also considered.
